Francesca Gargaglia, CEO of social.plus, named a finalist in the 2026 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards

Great British Entrepreneur Awards Finalist

Being named a finalist means a lot. We've put everything into building social.plus over the last few years, and it's good to see that work recognised. This one's for the whole team.”
— Francesca Gargaglia, CEO & co-founder, social.plus
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Francesca Gargaglia, CEO & co-founder of social.plus, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, shortlisted in the Technology Entrepreneur of the Year category.

The Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, launched in 2012 and often described as the Grammys of entrepreneurship, recognizes the most exceptional business stories across the UK. This year's shortlist was drawn from more than 5,000 applications, with 740 businesses selected across categories spanning every region and nation of the country.

The Technology Entrepreneur of the Year category honors founders and leaders building technology companies that demonstrate exceptional innovation, resilience, and long-term impact. Being shortlisted places Gargaglia among a cohort whose combined businesses support more than 17,700 jobs and represent £3.3 billion in combined turnover.

Frankie James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said:
“When we launched the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in 2012, we set out to back the businesses that get on and build, the ones that don't always get the recognition they deserve. More than a decade on, over 5,000 applications tell me we were onto something. This year's cohort represents billions in turnover and tens of thousands of jobs, but what I'm proudest of is the determination behind those numbers. These are founders who have stuck with it through every kind of year, and championing them is exactly why we do this.”

Since founding social.plus, Francesca Gargaglia has led the company to serve more than 100 enterprise clients, whose apps together exceed 500 million downloads. Those apps use social.plus's pre-built components to embed engagement directly inside the product, turning every interaction into first-party data teams can act on, with full ownership of the data, the design, and the customer relationship.

The shortlisting reflects growing recognition of engagement infrastructure as a strategic priority for digital products. Consumer apps are moving toward owned engagement experiences embedded directly in the product, where they control the data, the design, and the customer relationship, and capture first-party data instead of renting attention on third-party platforms. That shift is what social.plus's infrastructure is built to support, without diverting product teams from core development.
